Biography

W.A.S.P. was one of the heavy glam rock greats of the 1980s, alongside Mötley Crüe, Twisted Sister and Poison. Particularly outrageous, W.A.S.P. was the subject of a 1986 campaign led by Senator Al Gore's wife, targeting its bleeding, sexually explicit lyrics. Despite relatively limited success, W.A.S.P. made its mark with albums such as The Headless Children (1988), The Crimson Idol (1993) and Dying for the World (2002). Never one to give up, W.A.S.P. released Babylon in 2009. Six years elapsed between this album and the next, Golgotha, during which time the band performed their repertoire on stage across the world.
