Biography

Los Rancheros, an Argentinian rock band, was formed in Buenos Aires in 1990 by Meno Fernández and Miguel Gabbanelli. Their debut album, Los Rancheros, was released in 1991 under Sony Music, produced by Andrés Calamaro. The band gained significant recognition with their second album, Tierra bendita (1993), which included the hit single "Casualidad" and was followed by performances opening for Sting and James Taylor at the José Amalfitani stadium. Their third album, Ni por todo el oro del mundo (1994), marked their first release in Latin America and the United States, and contained the single "El Che y los Rolling Stones." Between 1996 and 1998, Los Rancheros released three albums under EMI Odeón: Supernova (1996), Ángeles tatuados (1997), and Vinilo (1998). In 2007, they returned with Canción sin tiempo, featuring reversioned hits and collaborations with artists like Moris and David Lebón. Their album Estimulante (2010) included the single "Rosemary" and featured guest appearances by Litto Nebbia and Leo García. In 2013, they released Tras tus pasos, which included the track "Bancarrota", featuring Walter Piancioli of Los Tipitos. The band continued to tour extensively, performing in major festivals across Argentina, Paraguay, and Peru. In the following years, Los Rancheros released a handful of live LPs (2018's Sesiones en Directo and 2020's Sesiones en Vivo), as well as Canciones Escondidas I (2021), Canciones Escondidas II (2022), and En La Radio (2025).
