Biography

Intoxicados was an Argentine rock band formed in Buenos Aires at the end of 2000, following the dissolution of Viejas Locas. The group was founded by Cristian "Pity" Álvarez, who enlisted Abel Meyer on drums, Adrián "Burbujas" Pérez on keyboards, and Ezequiel "Peri" Rodríguez on harmonica. Additional members included Jorge Rossi on bass, Felipe Barrozo on guitar, Favio Cuevas on percussion, and Víctor Djamkotchian on saxophone. Their debut show took place at the Mocambo in Haedo, leading to their first official concert at Cemento on May 26, 2001. The band's initial album, Buen Día!!, was released that November. Intoxicados' second album, No Es Solo Rock and Roll, showcased a diverse range of styles including reggae, funk, and hip-hop, marking a significant shift in their musical direction. This period saw them perform at major festivals such as Cosquín Rock and Quilmes Rock, and they released notable singles like "Volver a Casa" and "Una Vela". Their third album, Otro Día en el Planeta Tierra, was recorded in Tilcara, Jujuy, and featured the tracks "Fuego" and "Señor Kioskero". The band continued to tour extensively across Argentina. However, Intoxicados announced an indefinite hiatus in February 2009, effectively disbanding. Later, they released Otra Noche en la Luna (Episodio I) in November 2020 and Otra Noche en la Luna (Episodio II) in August 2021.
