Biography
Bersuit Vergarabat are a Latin rock band from Argentina who began in 1987 with the name Henry y la Palangana and changed names before deciding on the current one. Led by singer Gustavo Cordera and chief songwriter/keyboardist Juan Subirá, the band made its official debut in 1992 with the album Y Punto, and hit its stride in the late 90s with the Gustavo Santaolalla-produced Libertinaje (1998), which propelled them to stardom through hits like "Yo Tomo," "Sr. Cobranza," and "Se Viene." This success was followed by other well-received albums such as Hijos del Culo (2000), De la Cabeza (2002)La Argentinidad al Palo (2004), and Testosterona (2005). Bersuit Vergarabat would go on to release two more albums for Universalâthe greatest hits compilation Bersuit (2006) and ? (2007)âbefore ultimately disbanding in 2009. Two years later, the group resumed their live performances without frontman Gustavo Cordera and released their tenth LP La Revuelta in 2012 with Daniel Suárez and Germán "Condor" Sbarbati on lead vocals. Their next album, 2014's El Baile Interior, won Best Rock Album at the 2015 Premios Gardel. The group followed this success in 2016 with La Nube Rosa, the first one without guitarist Oscar Righi, and the live album De la Cabeza 2 (2019), which featured a live version of the track "La Soledad" from La Argentinidad al Palo.
