Biography

Formed in 1996, contemporary gospel group Lisa Knowles & the Brown Singers is a family affair led by singer Alescia Nicole Knowles, born in Memphis on September 29, 1983. She began her career in 1996, but it was in 2008 that the group's first album, Experience: The Evolution (Live in Memphis), was released, an independent production that reached No.1 in the gospel charts. Six years later, The Evolution Continues was released on the One Voice label at No. 6, before the 2016 release of Evolution: The Legacy. The group, which in 2022 signed the single "Jesus Knows", returned in 2025 with the hit "Promises", which reached #6 in the Gospel Digital Songs charts.
