Lindy Vopnfjörð, born May 26, 1972 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, is a singer-songwriter who began performing as a child with his family's Icelandic folk group, the Hekla Singers. In the early 1990s, he co-founded the folk-rock band Northern Junk with his brother, gaining popularity in Victoria, British Columbia. Vopnfjörð released his debut solo album, Keeping Me Awake, in 1995, followed by Lindy in 1998 and The Humorous Years in 2001. In 2004, he released Suspension of Disbelief. Vopnfjörð co-founded the indie rock band Major Maker with Todor Kobakov in Toronto; their single "Rollercoaster" (2006) charted on Billboard's Hot 100. His 2013 solo album, Young Waverer, featured three singles that were played on CBC Radio 2 and CBC Radio 3.
