Biography
Daughter is a British folk trio comprising Elena Tonra (vocals, guitar), Igor Haefeli (guitar) and Remi Aguilella (drums), formed in London in 2010. After three self-released EPs on Communion Records in 2011, the band joined 4AD and unveiled their debut album in March of the following year. If You Leave reached number 16 in the UK charts. Following this performance, the band is enlisted to support The National in 2014 and Ben Howard on their US tours in 2015. Between these two engagements, the trio recorded their second album, Not to Disappear, which was released in January 2016 and reached #17 on the UK charts and appeared at #80 on the US Billboard chart, highlighted by the tracks "Numbers" and "How". The following year, the band provides the soundtrack for a video game, Before the Storm, unveiled in 2017. Elena Tonra devotes some time to her solo career, leading to a pause in Daughter's trajectory. This resumed in 2023 with the release of Stereo Mind Game, promoted by the titles "Be on Your Way" and "Party".
