Biography

Kurt Maloo is a Swiss singer-songwriter and producer born Kurt Meier in 1953 in Zurich, Switzerland. In 1979, he released the single “Giant Lady/Kontiki”. He formed the art-punk band Troppo in 1976, which gained a cult following in Switzerland. In 1980, he formed the trio Ping Pong, which released the album From Exile (1982). Maloo subsequently formed the duo Double, achieving international success with the single “The Captain of Her Heart” from the album Blue (1985). Following the group's disbandment in 1989, he resumed his solo career. His albums include Single (1990), Loopy Avenue (2006), and Summer of Better Times (2009).
