Biography

Real name Djamel Fezari, DJ Kore was born in Paris of Algerian parents. He got his start in underground culture in the late 1990s. He met Skalp in 1997 and began working with him as a duo, producing numerous mixtapes for artists such as Eloquence, Costello and Screen Connexion. Four years later, Kore & Skalp signed to Sony Music and worked with rappers such as Booba and Rohff. It was with the latter's album, La Vie Avant la Mort, that they enjoyed their first real success, which led to them producing the soundtrack for the film Taxi 3. They continued their collaboration until 2005, when Kore began working with his brother Bellek and Aurélien Mazzin. In 2006, he worked again with Booba on the album Le Météore, then broadened his horizons with the compilation Rai'n'B Fever, the second part of which saw him collaborate with Kelly Rowland, Willy Denzey, M. Pokora, Leslie, Amine, Cheb Mami, Diam's and Sniper. He moved to the United States in 2010 and decided to focus specifically on the urban trend of the moment: trap. He founded his own label A.W.A. in 2014, and the following year was involved in Lacrim's first major-label album, Corleone, before moving on to soundtracks for Pattaya and Taxi 5. After working with L'Algérino, Kendji Girac, Alonzo, Marina Kaye and Dadju, Kore signed with Sony Music in 2018. While he announces a new volume of Raï'n'B Fever in 2019, he is simultaneously developing the activities of his label, signing artists such as Diddi Trix, Zola and Doria. He was also featured on the soundtrack of the film En Passant Pécho (2021), for which he co-wrote the track "Mango" with Lacrim , which reached number 39 in the French charts. In 2025, he relaunched his series with Raï'n'B Fever: Part 1, a new volume featuring Franglish, Leslie, Lacrim, Cheb Bilal, Sofiane, Hamza, Alonzo, ElGrandeToto, Amine, Rim'K and Zahouania.
