A rapper from Marseille, Kassimou Djae first gained recognition under the stage name Segnor Alonzo as part of the Psy4 de la Rime collective, before going on to pursue a prolific solo career under the name Alonzo. Born on July 25, 1982, into a family of Comorian descent, he followed in the footsteps of his cousins Soprano and Vicenzo by joining the group KDB, which later changed its name to Psy4 de la Rime and recorded four successful albums between 2002 and 2013. Without delay, Alonzo founded his own label, TSE, in 2004, dedicated to discovering new talent, and released the mixtape Un Dernier Coup dâOeil dans le Rétroviseur (2009), which launched his solo career. Alongside Akhenaton, he released the album Les Temps Modernes (2010) and signed with Def Jam France for his subsequent albums, Amour,* *Gloire & Beauté (2012), and Règlements de Comptes (2015)âwhich reached No. 2 on the sales chartsâfeaturing Booba, Maître Gimâs, Lacrim, and Gradur. That same year saw the release of Capo dei Capi, Volume 1, the first installment in a series of mixtapes. Alonzoâs sharp, hardcore rap blends with the then-trendy trap sound on the albums Avenue de Saint-Antoine (2016) and 100% (2017), which peaked at No. 3 and were certified platinum. In 2019, the album Stone placed six tracks in the top ten, including the duet with Ninho, âCâest elleâ (No. 2). It was followed in 2021 by the double mixtape *Capo dei Capi, Vol. II & III (No. 3), led by the track âLa Seleçaoâ (No. 2), featuring Jul and Naps. In 2022, he reunited with Ninho and Naps on the lead single from his new album, âTout va bien â (No. 1), featuring Fayv and Skinny Flex. Alonzoâs sixth album, Quartiers Nord, reached No. 3 that same year. Honored at the Flammes and the NRJ Music Awards in 2024, the rapper released the EP Le Grand Massacre de la Saint-Sylvestre that same year, followed a year later by the album Longue Vie à Nous (No. 3), featuring the hits âCouteau dans le dosâ and âScannéâ as well as guest appearances by Gims, Gazo, PLK, and Jul. New tracks were released in 2025: âBoulevard Chave, â âFreestyle Araï, â âLa Mélancolie du ferry, â and âParkaâ featuring So La Lune, before the 2026 release of the mixtape Drakkar, which reached No. 1 on the SNEP chart, featuring collaborations with Mous-K, Guy2Bezbar, RnBoi, L2B, TK, KeBlack, Timar, and Bamby.
