Kanales is the stage name of Mexican regional singer and songwriter Pedro Haros, who was born in 1985 in Los Cedritos, Sinaloa and began writing corridos as a way to process family tragedy, taking his artistic name from a brother affectionately nicknamed âKanales.â After building a following on the underground corrido circuit, he released early albums such as Alas de Papel (2015), Propio Patrón (2017) and Coronas Doradas (2017), sharpening a storytelling style rooted in sierra and norteño traditions. His breakout came in 2017 with the single âCasitas de Cojoyo,â whose video surpassed tens of millions of views and earned a Video of the Year nomination at Premios de Radio, and with âLos Cuervos,â a duet with El Fantasma that gave him a first Top 20 hit on Mexican radio. Kanales deepened that momentum with the 2019 album Hombre de 14 Años, which debuted at Number 1 on Billboardâs Regional Mexican Albums chart and featured collaborations with Los Austeros de Durango on âEl Tercerâ and El Potro de Sinaloa on âLas Tempestades.â In 2020, he issued the studio album Caricias Vendidas and the live set Concierto En Vivo, Vol. 1, followed in the early 2020s by a run of singles including âMañana Sin Sol,â âPateando Piedras,â âEl Color de la Suerteâ and âEscapulario,â with the latter entering the Top 40 of Billboardâs Regional Mexican Airplay chart and accumulating tens of millions of streams and views. He continued exploring narrative corridos on Corridos de Clase, Vol. 1 (2022) and released songs like âEl Mundo Encimaâ while touring the United States with his AfinArte labelmates. In 2024 he returned with the album Los Amigos Valen Oro, a 14-track collection that mixed new corridos and classic canciones, and in September 2025 he released Kanales Unplugged, a 17-track acoustic and semi-live project revisiting signature pieces such as âEscapulario,â âFeliciano,â âEl Color de la Suerte,â âEl Niño de los Copalesâ and âSe Marcaban Bien Mis Pasos.â That year, his non-album single "El Gallo Fino" peaked at number 37 on the Regional Mexican Airplay chart.
