Tapy Quintero (born Mario Andrés Quintero in Tijuana and raised in San Diego) is a Regional Mexican singer, songwriter, producer, and bajo-quinto player who first worked behind the scenes writing and producing for acts including Los Buitres de Culiacán and José Esparza before stepping out as a solo artist. The son of Mario Quintero Lara, leader of Los Tucanes de Tijuana, he launched his career under the Master Q Music banner and debuted with the self-written, self-produced album Estudio B (2018), which introduced early calling cards such as âRicardo 666,â âNo Tengo Rival,â and âContentito.â A key early collaboration arrived with Los Tucanes de Tijuana on âEl Agricultorâ (2019). Momentum continued with the single âHoy Más Que Nuncaâ (2020), followed by the studio set Tenemos Que Hablar (2021) and the concert release Live Session (November 19, 2021). He expanded his catalog with Linda Vida (2022) and the live set En Vivo (2022), while issuing standalone singles across corridos, sierreño, and norteño styles. In 2023 he delivered the ten-track Apadrinado and teamed with Código FN on the single âNo Se Enreden.â A productive 2024 brought Live Session 2 and the 16-song studio album Diverso, featuring collaborations including âEl de La Pâ with La Esencia de Tijuana and El Tato. Subsequently, 2025 highlights included the duet single âTe Doy Mi Palabraâ with La Adictiva and âBenjamin Esâ with La Esencia de Tijuana, underscoring a steady rise built on crisp accordion-led arrangements and melodic storytelling.
