Jesu is a British experimental metal project from Abergele, Wales. Formed in 2003, the group was founded by Justin Broadrick following the dissolution of the band Godflesh. The ensembleâs sound incorporates elements of shoegaze, industrial metal and drone. Broadrick performed all instruments on the debut EP, âHeart Acheâ (2004). He later expanded the lineup to include bassist Diarmuid Dalton and drummer Ted Parsons for the recording of the self-titled debut album, Jesu (2004). Their subsequent recordings included the melodic âSilverâ EP (2006) and the studio album Conqueror (2007). After returning to a solo format, Broadrick released the albums Ascension (2011) and Everyday I Get Closer to the Light from Which I Came (2013). In 2016, he collaborated with the project Sun Kil Moon on the album Jesu/Sun Kil Moon. His later recording history included the EP âNeverâ (2020) and the studio album Terminus (2020).
