Biography

Earth is a band resolutely apart in the world of metal. The brainchild of guitarist Dylan Carlson, Earth's metal is experimental and predominantly instrumental. Its propensity for long, repetitive pieces makes it a band outside the mainstream commercial circuit, followed only by its fans. Earth has been around since 1989 and has undergone constant personnel changes, Dylan Carlson being the only permanent member of the band. Earth 2: Special Low-Frequency Version (1993), Hex: Or Printing in the Infernal Method(2005), The Bees Make Honey in the Lion's Skull (2008), and Angels of Darkness, Demons of Light I (2011) followed by Angels of Darkness, Demons of Light II in 2012 are the main achievements of a band that is both musically ambitious and totally original.
