Biography
Australian alternative rock band, Jebediah, was formed in 1994 in Perth, Western Australia. The group consisted of Chris Daymond on lead guitar, Kevin Mitchell on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Vanessa Thornton on bass guitar, and Brett Mitchell on drums. Jebediah gained national attention when their single "Jerks of Attention" received heavy airplay on Australian alternative radio station Triple J in 1996. This breakthrough led to the release of their debut album Slightly Odway in September 1997, which peaked at number 7 on the ARIA Albums Chart and remained in the top 50 for 54 weeks. The band released several studio albums by 2004, including: Kosciuszko and Of Someday Shambles, the latter charting at number 2. After touring to celebrate their tenth anniversary in 2005, the band went on hiatus. Kevin Mitchell continued solo work under his pseudonym, Bob Evans. Jebediah reconvened in 2010 and released their fifth studio album, Kosciuszko, which charted in the ARIA top ten.
