Jahcoozi, a German electronic music group formed in Berlin in 2002, consisted of London-born, Sri Lankan-heritage songwriter and frontwoman Sasha Perera, producer and instrumentalist Robot Koch, and Tel Aviv-born Oren Gerlitz. The band's debut release was the Fish 12" EP in 2003, which helped them build an underground following. In 2005, Jahcoozi signed with Kitty-Yo, releasing their debut album Pure Breed Mongrel. Notable songs from this period include "Black Barbie" and "Fish", the latter earning them a spotlight on John Peel's BBC show. The group released several albums, including Blitz'n'ass (2007) and Barefoot Wanderer (2010). Jahcoozi collaborated with numerous artists such as Modeselektor and Asian Dub Foundation.
