Hate Dept. is an American industrial/punk rock band formed in 1991 by Steven Seibold, a multi-instrumentalist who writes, records and releases Hate Dept. albums with minimal outside help. The group's debut album Meat.Your.Maker was released in 1994 and appeared in Rolling Stoneâs Top 10 alternative albums. Seibold was nominated 'Best New Talent' by Keyboard magazine the same year. Their second release, Omnipresent, was reviewed in Rolling Stone and Alternative Press and spent eight weeks on the CMJ RPM chart, peaking at number 7. In 2003, Hate Dept. released their fourth album Ditch. After a hiatus of ten years, the band's fifth studio album, New Ghost, was released in August 2013.
