Biography
Gomm, a French rock group from Lille, was formed in 1998 and initially gained traction performing in bars across the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region. The band, composed of Guillaume, Olivier, Marie, and Mathieu, made their first major appearance at the Transmusicales Festival in Rennes in 2001. Gomm's music, characterized by saturated guitars, synthesizer layers, and alternating male and female vocals, quickly set them apart. Their first album, Destroyed to Perfection, was released in 2004, followed by notable performances at festivals such as the Printemps de Bourges, where they won the Sacem prize and the "Attention talent disque" award. In July 2004, Gomm played before seventeen thousand people in Arras, supporting Placebo, and secured backing from Brian Molko. They released their final album, 4, in 2007. The group disbanded in 2009 by mutual agreement among its members.
