Ela Orleans is a Polish composer, multi-instrumentalist, and singer born in 1971 in OÅwiÄcim, Poland. She began her musical career as a member of the group Hassle Hound, featuring on early releases such as the single "Appalachian Listening Post" (2004) and the album Limelight Cordial (2006). Orleans' solo debut album Low Sun, High Moon was released in 2008. She released a series of albums including Lost (2009), Double Feature (2011) with Dirty Beaches, and Mars Is Heaven (2011). Orleans collaborated extensively with artists such as Skitter and The Pastels, and her work spans various genres including electronic music, experimental folk, and opera. She scored music for TV, film, and opera. Other notable solo releases include the albums Tumult in Clouds (2013), Upper Hell (2015), and Circles of Upper and Lower Hell (2016), and the compilation album Movies for Ears (2019).
