Biography

The Anix, a Los Angeles-based electronic rock project, was formed in 2001 by Brandon Smith, Bryan Lareau, and Oscar Gutierrez. Initially a band with multiple members, The Anix released their debut album An Illusion of Time in 2004. Their breakthrough came with the critically acclaimed album Demolition City, released in 2008 under Chamberlain Records, which received praise from Billboard Magazine for its 1980s-inspired style. The band toured extensively, playing shows in Germany. In 2011, they signed with Cleopatra Records and released Sleepwalker, featuring the song "Warning Signs" included in the soundtrack of Mass Effect: Paragon Lost. After releasing Ephemeral in 2017, The Anix transitioned into a solo project led by Brandon Smith. Under the electronic music label FiXT, Smith released several albums, including Shadow_Movement, Hologram, and Graphite.
