Biography
Downsyde, an Australian hip hop group from Perth, Western Australia, formed in 1996. The band consisted of MCs Optamus (Scott Griffiths), Dazastah (Darren Reutens), and Dyna-Mikes (Shahbaz Rind). They released their debut album Epinonimous in 2000. In 2003, Downsyde won the Best Debut Artist at the Dance Music Awards for their single "Gifted Life" and released their second album Land of the Giants. The band signed with Obese Records in 2004 and released When the Dust Settles in December of the same year. Their fourth album, All City, was released on October 4, 2008, marking their first entry into the ARIA top 100 at Number 76. Downsyde performed alongside notable acts including Jurassic 5, Cypress Hill, and The Black Eyed Peas, as well as Australian groups like Hilltop Hoods and Resin Dogs.
