D-LOOP is a Japanese synth-pop unit of three members, male and female, formed in 1997. The members consisted of keyboardist Takuaki Hayama (born June 22, 1974 in Kumamoto Prefecture), who has an outstanding sense of melody, vocalist MINAMI (born October 31, 1975 in Nagano Prefecture), who boasts overwhelming clarity and singing ability, and guitarist Nobuto Yamakawa (born October 21, 1972 in Tochigi Prefecture). On May 8, 1997, they made their debut with the single "Just Place of Love" from avex trax. The song was used as a commercial song for "Takano Yuri Beauty Clinic" and became a smash hit, reaching No. 19 on the Oricon charts. In 1998, Yamakawa left the group and went on hiatus, but in 2004, Hayama and MINAMI restarted the group and released the long-awaited album "grace mode". In April 2010, the group officially ended its activities with the passing of MINAMI, who sadly passed away.
