Biography

Django 3000, a German folk-pop/rock band from Chiemgau, was formed in 2011. Named after jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt, the trio gained attention with their YouTube video of "Heidi" in 2011, leading to a record deal with Seven Days Music. Their debut album Django 3000 was released in March 2012 and charted in Germany. Shortly after, Lorenz "Astl" Schmid left the band, and Kamil Müller became the lead vocalist. The band's subsequent albums include Hopaaa! (2013), Bonaparty (2015), and In the Storm (2017). They have performed annually around 100 concerts across Europe, including festivals like the Montreux Jazz Festival. Their song "Heidi" was used as the title theme for the TV series Die Garmisch-Cops in 2012. Every year in January, their so-called "hometown concerts" take place in Staudauch-Egerndach in Chiemgau.
