Biography

Jamaram, a German band from Munich, was formed in 2000 by singer Tom Lugo, drummer Max Alberti, and guitarist Sam Hopf. The group gained initial recognition at the international youth festival Emergenza in 2002, where they secured two first-place finishes in the preliminary rounds and a second place in the final. This led to over 100 concerts, including performances at festivals like the Chiemsee Reggae Summer in 2005. Their debut album, Kalahassi, was released in 2004 under Soulfire Artists/Rough Trade, followed by their first European tour. Subsequent albums include Ookuchaka! (2006), featuring the single "Megan", and Shout it from the Rooftops (2008). In December 2008, Jamaram embarked on a three-week tour in Uganda and Kenya, supported by the Goethe Institut. Their album Live was released in 2009. The band's fifth studio album, Jameleon, was released in 2010.
