Moop Mama, a German band from Munich, was founded in 2009 by saxophonist Marcus Kesselbauer. The group initially consisted of seven brass players, two percussionists, and a rapper, and they began their career with spontaneous public performances known as "Guerilla-Konzerte." Their first album, Deine Mutter, was released on June 24, 2011, followed by Das Rote Album in November 2013. The band gained attention for their blend of hip hop and traditional marching band music, performing at various festivals such as the Fusion Festival and Splash! festival. Notable singles include "König der Stadtmitte" (2011) and "Liebe" (2012). Moop Mama has also contributed to film scores and appeared on television shows like Inas Nacht and ttt â titel, thesen, temperamente. Their discography includes albums such as M.O.O.P.Topia (2016) and Ich (2018), along with live recordings.
