Biography

Die Kirmesmusikanten, a Dutch music duo consisting of Henny van Voskuylen and Coby van Voskuylen-Mol, were known for their accordion playing in volkstümliche Musik. Born Hendrik Frederik "Henny" Evert van Voskuylen on May 23, 1941, in Bunnik near Utrecht, and Coby van Voskuylen-Mol on July 22, 1944, in Amersfoort, the duo began their musical journey as children. After meeting during one of Coby's performances, they started collaborating as Duo Las Estrellas and eventually changed their name to Die Kirmesmusikanten after signing with a record label. Their first single "Kleine Liebesmelodie" (1971) marked the beginning of a prolific career that spanned over 1000 titles. Notable albums include Die Grossen Erfolge (1973). The duo achieved significant success, earning a Gold Record in Germany and appearing frequently on television shows in the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, and France. Henny van Voskuylen passed away on January 12, 2010, at the age of 68, marking the end of their collaborative performances.
