Biography
Derrick Crumpley, known professionally as Deskee, was born in New York City, United States of America. After relocating to Germany in 1984 with his mother, Deskee began performing as a DJ for The Body Snatchers Road Show, gaining early exposure in German nightclubs. His breakthrough came with the 1989 single âLet There Be Houseâ, produced alongside H. Felber and M. Rodiger, which reached Number 1 on the US Billboard Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart and entered the UK Singles Chart at number 52. In 1990, the follow-up single âDance, Danceâ also topped the US dance chart and charted at number 74 in the UK. Deskee continued DJ and production work following these chart successes, solidifying his reputation within the electronic and club music scenes.
