Biography

De Rosa, a Scottish rock band from Bellshill, was formed in 2001 by main songwriter Martin John Henry. The group initially consisted of Henry on vocals and guitar, with Neil Woodside on drums. They released their debut single "Camera" / "All Saints Day" in August 2004, which garnered attention from DJs including the late John Peel and Steve Lamacq. Their first album, Mend, was released in 2006 under Chemikal Underground Records and reached number 16 on British music magazine Mojo's top 50 albums of that year. The band toured extensively, supporting acts like Mogwai and Arab Strap. In March 2009, they released their second album, Prevention. Despite a UK tour with Doves in April 2009, De Rosa announced their breakup in June 2009. The band reunited in February 2012, releasing their third studio album Weem in January 2016 before disbanding again in 2021.
