Cynthia Deyanira RodrÃguez Ruiz, known professionally as Cynthia, was born on May 8, 1984 in Monclova, Coahuila, Mexico, and is a singer and actress. Cynthia's breakthrough came in 2005 when she participated in the fourth season of the reality show La Academia, finishing in fourth place. Her performance with Erasmo Catarino on "Sabes una cosa" was highly acclaimed. In 2006, she released her debut album Soy under Warner Music México, featuring the title track and "Y ahora vienes tú". Cynthia also ventured into acting, appearing in telenovelas such as Se busca un hombre. Her second album, Provócame, was released in 2008. In 2011, she signed with Sony Music and released Tú como yo, which included the hit "De ti" and "Enamorada", positioning her within the Top 10 on Mexican radio charts.
