Crime In Stereo, a Long Island-based hardcore punk band, was formed in 2001. The group released their first demo tape that same year and gained initial traction with a split EP with Kill Your Idols in 2003 on Blackout! Records. Their debut full-length album, Explosives and the Will to Use Them, was released in 2004, followed by the four-song EP "The Contract" in 2005. In early 2005, they signed with Nitro Records and released their second studio album, The Troubled Stateside, released in 2006. After leaving Nitro Records, Crime In Stereo signed to Bridge Nine Records for their third full-length album, Crime In Stereo Is Dead (2007). Their album, I Was Trying to Describe You to Someone, was released in 2010. The band disbanded in August 2010 but reformed in 2012 and released their fifth full-length album, House & Trance, in 2023 on Pure Noise Records.
