Biography

Kill Your Idols was an American hardcore punk band from New York, formed in 1995 by Andy West and Gary Bennett. The group took their name from a song by Situated Chaos. The band’s first demo was recorded in 1996, leading to the debut release “12-inch E.P.” (1997). Kill Your Idols released the EP This Is Just the Beginning (1998) and the album No Gimmicks Needed (2000). From 1998 to 2002, they toured extensively. After signing with SideOneDummy Records, their albums included Funeral for a Feeling (2001) and From Companionship to Competition (2005). The band disbanded in 2007 but reunited in 2013 and performed at the Warzone tribute show in 2017.
