Coely Mbueno, known professionally as Coely, was born on January 5, 1994, in Antwerp, Belgium, to Congolese parents. She began her musical journey singing in a church choir led by her mother and started rapping at 14, initially covering Nicki Minaj in a local youth club. Coely released her debut EP RAAH The Soulful Yeah in 2013. She gained traction with her album Different Waters in 2016, which peaked at number eight on the Ultratop Flemish chart. Notable singles include "Don't Care," which reached Number 1 on De Afrekening, a hitlist by Studio Brussel. She has performed as an opening act for artists such as Kanye West, De La Soul, and Kendrick Lamar, and appeared at major festivals including Glastonbury. Coely's achievements include winning the Solo Woman Award and Urban Award at the Music Industry Awards in 2017, and being named Belgian Singer of the Year by Humo magazine.
