Chikinki, a British electronic music group formed in 1996 in Bristol, entered the scene with guitarist and vocalist Ed East and other founding members, all university students at the time. Their early releases included singles such as âHello Helloâ in 2008, issued during their period of working with the independent label Kitty-Yo. That same year the band released their studio album Brace, Brace on 12 November 2007, a record highlighting their electronic and indie-pop approach. In 2004 they had released the earlier album Lick Your Ticket, which further established their presence in the UK electronic scene through its UK and German releases. Subsequent touring across the UK and continental Europe amplified their profile, while collaborations with electronic producers such as Tiefschwarz expanded their sonic palette. The group remained active into the early 2010s, releasing Bitten in 2011, before eventually disbanding.
