Biography
Born in Tyler, Texas, on February 18, 2000, Chance Peña is a singer-songwriter and folk musician. A musician from an early age, he began publishing his first tracks with Secret Road Music Publishing at just seventeen. After an attempt to make a name for himself on The Voice in 2015, he made a low-key debut in 2019 with the ballad "Up, Up & Away", which gained some recognition when it featured on the soundtrack to the film Five Feet Apart. Meanwhile, the singer-songwriter recorded the EP Anxiety & Mixed Emotionals before leaving the hometown that inspires him for Los Angeles. Composer for John Legend, he saw his track "Conversations in the Dark" nominated for a Grammy Award in 2020, and pursued his own career with the EP The Inevitable and a string of self-released singles. Following the release of the Lovers to Strangers EP (2023), the track "I Am Not Who I Was" becomes a viral success around the world and enters several official charts, notably in Ireland where it reaches No. 47. In 2024, in addition to his participation in Kygo's pop track "Louder" with Julia Michaels, the single "The Mountain Is You" paved the way for the release of the Ever-Shifting album , Continual Blossoming. The following year saw the release of the duet "How Long, How Long?" with Hayd and the album When I Cange My Mind I Don't Mean It.
