Award-winning gospel singer Priscilla Marie Winans Love â born October 8, 1964, in Detroit, Michigan â is better known by her stage name CeCe Winans. Sheâs a member of the veteran gospel family group The Winans but came to prominence in the duo BeBe & CeCe Winans with her older brother Benjamin âBeBeâ Winans. The duoâs career began in 1981 when they performed on The PTL Club, a long-running Christian telecast hosted by Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker. Initially members of The Winans, the duo caught the attention of the PTL audience when they performed their interpretation of the hit song âUp Where We Belongâ, which had a few lyric alterations made to appeal to Christian audiences. The duoâs first album, Lord Lift Us Up, was released in 1984 and landed at number 20 on Billboardâs Gospel Albums chart. The duo released six albums in 10 years, two of them â Heaven (1988) and Different Styles (1991) â reached the top spot on the Gospel Albums chart. After a decade of working together, the siblings pursued their own solo careers. CeCe Winansâ solo career was enormously successful, landing six number 1 albums in the Gospel Albums chart including Everlasting Love (1998), Alabaster Box (1999), Throne Room (2003), Purified (2005), Thy Kingdom Come (2008), and Let Them Fall in Love (2017). Forty years after her PTL debut, she released the live album Believe for It (2021), which was yet another success alongside the albumâs single, âGoodness of Godâ. Three years later, CeCe Winans returned with a series of singles â âHoly Forever,â âThatâs My King,â and âCome Jesus Come,â all through of which were included on her 2024 live release More Than This. During her career, she has won 15 Grammy Awards â the most for any female gospel singer â plus 28 GMA Dove Awards, and many other honors to her credit. CeCe Winans is the best-selling gospel artist of all time and has sold millions of albums both as a solo artist and as one-half of the duo with her brother. The success of More Than This continued into late 2024, when CeCe Winans won three GMA Dove Awards, including Artist of the Year, and two Billboard Music Awards, Top Gospel Artist and Top Gospel Song for âThatâs My King.â She also released Joyful, Joyful: A Christmas Album (2024). In 2025, More Than This won the Grammy Award for Best Gospel Album, while âThatâs My Kingâ won Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song, raising her Grammy total to 17. Her duet version of âCome Jesus Comeâ with Shirley Caesar won a Dove Award in 2025 and earned CeCe Winans another Grammy in 2026. She continued touring with her More Than This concerts and joined Amy Grant and Michael W. Smith for the Christmas Together tour. In 2026, she released âFor Your Glory,â âWorthy of It All (Worthy),â a deluxe edition of More Than This, and The Hymns, led by âWhat a Friend We Have in Jesus.â
