Cause 4 Concern, originally a drum and bass group from Guildford, Surrey, was founded in 1999 by Mark Clements, who later became the sole member following the death of Edward Holmes (Optiv) in January 2020. The group established Cause4Concern Recordings to release its own material and works by peers, with the debut album Pandemic issued on 26â¯Augustâ¯2009, accompanied by a bonus DJâmix of earlier singles. Early releases such as the EP Slimeball / Sarin (2002) and the single Peepshow / Headroom (Remix) (2013) helped secure a niche within the electronic music scene. Cause 4 Concernâs track "Spasm" gained wider exposure by featuring on the inâgame radio station MSX FM in the video game Grand Theft Auto III. After Holmesâs passing, the project continued as a solo endeavor, preserving the legacy of the original partnership and maintaining its presence in the drum and bass community.
