Biography

Carnifex, an American deathcore band from San Diego County, California, was formed in December 2005 by lead vocalist Scott Ian Lewis and drummer Shawn Cameron. The group debuted with a self-titled EP released on May 18, 2006, through Enclave Records. Their first full-length album, Dead in My Arms, was released on July 12, 2007, under This City Is Burning Records. Following this release, Carnifex signed with Victory Records and released their second album, The Diseased and the Poisoned, which reached number 19 on the Billboard Top Heatseekers Chart in June 2008. The band's subsequent albums included Hell Chose Me (February 16, 2010) and Until I Feel Nothing (October 24, 2011). After a hiatus from December 2012 to June 2013, Carnifex returned with their fifth studio album, Die Without Hope, released on March 4, 2014, under Nuclear Blast.
