Biography

Despised Icon, a Canadian deathcore band from Montreal, Quebec, was formed in January 2002. Known for featuring two vocalists, Alexandre "Alex" Erian and Steve Marois, the group signed with Galy Records in 2002 and released their debut album Consumed by Your Poison. They later signed with Century Media Records and released The Healing Process in April 2005. Despised Icon toured extensively from 2005 to 2008, releasing their third album, The Ills of Modern Man, in May 2007. In September 2009, they released their fourth and final studio album Day of Mourning before disbanding in 2010. Despised Icon reunited for live shows in 2014 and subsequently signed with Nuclear Blast Records, releasing the albums Beast in July 2016, Purgatory in November 2019, and Shadow Work six years later in October 2025.
