Carlos Nuño is a Spanish salsa singer, composer, and producer known for his romantic style and distinctive voice reminiscent of Julio Iglesias. Born in Valencia in 1967, he began his musical journey as a child, recording his first song at just eight years old. He gained experience working alongside legendary figures like Pablo Herrero, Camilo Sesto, and Rocío Dúrcal, honing his skills as a producer and arranger. By the 1990s, Carlos Nuño had established himself as a key figure in the salsa romántica movement, achieving widespread success in Latin America, particularly in Colombia and Venezuela. Hits like "Corazón Embustero" and "La Puerta de Alcalá" solidified his reputation, while albums such as Para Puerto Rico y El Mundo (1993) and De cintura para abajo (1994) showcased his ability to blend salsa with international influences. His performances in over 120 countries, including a milestone concert at Madison Square Garden, further cemented his legacy. Throughout his career, Carlos Nuño has collaborated with icons like Rey Ruiz, Eddie Santiago, and Nino Segarra while also producing for numerous international artists. After relocating to Cali, Colombia, in the 2010s, he continued performing and releasing albums such as Otro Día (2019), Estación Salsa (2020), and Gracias Julio (2023).
