Biography
Anca Pop, born on October 22, 1984, in Moldova NouÄ, Romania, was a Romanian-Canadian singer-songwriter. At age three, her family fled to Yugoslavia and later settled in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. She began taking mandolin and singing lessons at seven years old. Her debut single, "Free Love", was released in 2015, followed by a version for Playboy magazine. In 2008, she collaborated with Goran BregoviÄ, contributing two songs to his album Champagne for Gypsies. Her self-titled debut studio album was released exclusively in Japan in 2016, featuring the singles "Free Love", "Super Cool", "Ring Around", and "Loco Poco". Pop signed with Roton Music after she collaborated with BregoviÄ. She died on December 16, 2018, at age 34, following a car accident near SviniÈa, Romania.
