Amanda Louisa GoseinâCameron, known professionally as Amanda Ghost, was born on 10â¯Julyâ¯1974 in England. She grew up in North London, studied at the London College of Fashion, and began writing songs with Ian Dench at age nineteen. Her first recording contract came in 2000 with Warner Records, where she released the album Ghost Stories on 12â¯Septemberâ¯2000; the single "Idol" entered the UK Singles Chart at Numberâ¯63. In 2004, the track "Break My World" reached Numberâ¯52 in the UK. Ghostâs EP, Blood on the Line (2006), was issued on her own Planâ¯A Records, and the EP Singles & Remixes followed in 2005. Throughout the 2000s, Ghost collaborated with highâprofile artists, coâwriting Beyoncéâs "Once in a Lifetime" (2010) and Shakiraâs "Gypsy" (2009), and contributing to Jordin Sparksâ single "Tattoo" (2008). She served as president of Epic Records from Februaryâ¯2009 until 2010, then founded the joint venture Outsiders with Sony Music. In 2015, she established the production company Unigram and later became CEO of AI Film. Ghost worked on the 2022 Grammyâwinning soundtrack The United States vs Billie Holiday and coâproduced the 2023 documentary Mad About the Boy: The Noel Coward Story. In 2024, she led the production of the musical theatre adaptation Gatsby: An American Myth, coâcomposed with Florence Welch.
