The Alin Coen Band is a German pop and folk ensemble formed in May 2007 in Weimar. Led by singer-songwriter Alin Coen, the group also features bassist Philipp Martin and drummer Fabian Stevens. The band achieved its professional breakthrough in 2008 by participating in the PopCamp masterclass and appearing on the internet program TV Noir. In August 2010, the group released its debut studio album, Wer bist du?, through their independent label Pflanz einen Baum. Coen and the band received the Deutscher Musikautorenpreis for Young Talent in April 2011 and represented Thuringia in the Bundesvision Song Contest that same year. Following the 2011 EP Einer will immer mehr, the ensemble issued the English-language album We're Not the Ones We Thought We Were in 2013, featuring the single âA No Is a Noâ. After a period of academic pursuit by Coen, the group resumed activity in 2020 with the German-language album Nah. In 2022, they released the collaboration Alin Coen & Stüba Philharmonie.
