Biography

Alaska y los Pegamoides was a Spanish pop punk and new wave group from Madrid, formed in 1979 following the dissolution of Kaka de Luxe. The group consisted of Alaska, Nacho Canut, Carlos Berlanga, Ana Curra, and Eduardo Benavente. In 1980, the band released the recording “Horror en el hipermercado”. The group released the studio album Grandes éxitos in 1982, which reached number 10 on the Spanish charts and included the recording “Bailando”. Following the release of the recordings “La línea se cortó” and “El jardín”, the band became inactive in late 1982. Benavente and Curra continued with the group Parálisis Permanente, while Alaska and Canut joined Berlanga in Dinarama. Benavente died in 1983, and Berlanga died in 2002. Compilations including Simplemente lo mejor (1997) and Los Singles (1980-1982) (2013) were subsequently released. Alaska y los Pegamoides became inactive in 1982.
