Yossi Green, born on May 30, 1955, in Bnei Brak, Israel, is a Hasidic Jewish composer of contemporary Jewish religious music who performs regularly. Raised in a Satmar Hasidic family, Green's songwriting career began while studying at the Manchester Yeshivah in 1973, where he wrote his soul music version "Kol Berama", which became an international hit. As of 2024, he has composed over 1000 melodies across various genres including pop, classical, liturgical, and Hasidic music. His notable works include the major hits "Tanya" and "Aderaba". He composed for and collaborated with prominent figures in the Orthodox Jewish music world such as Mordechai Ben David and Avraham Fried. In 2002, he released his greatest hits album Shades of Green, followed by subsequent volumes and his solo album The 8th Note in 2008. His music was featured at a 1995 outdoor concert at Yarkon Park in Tel Aviv with over 150,000 attendees.
