Willie Jackson, born September 25, 1985 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, United States, is known professionally as Willie the Kid. He was a founding member of The Aphilliates, working closely with DJ Drama and Don Cannon. His debut album, Absolute Greatness, was released on Asylum Records in 2008. Willie the Kid appeared on both of DJ Drama's Gangsta Grillz: The Album and Gangsta Grillz: The Album (Vol. 2), as well as Lil Wayne's Dedication 2 and Dedication 3 mixtapes. Notable releases include The Cure 2 in 2011, Aquamarine in 2013, and the collaborative EP Masterpiece Theatre with The Alchemist. Willie the Kid has also ventured into film production, co-executive producing the PBS American Masters documentary I, Too, Sing America: Langston Hughes Unfurled, and starring in his own short film The Fly.
