Biography

It was around Sebastian Murphy on vocals, Henrik Höckert on bass, Oskar Carls on saxophone, Martin Ehrenchona on keyboards, Benjamin Vallé on guitar and Sol Tor Sjödén on drums that post-punk revival band Viagra Boys was born in 2015 in Stockholm, Sweden. Two EPs, Consistency of Energy in 2016 and Call of the Wild in 2017, followed before the release of their debut album. Street Worms, released in 2018, features the singles "Sports", "Just Like You" and "Slow Learner", which is featured in the video game Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2. With its main themes of hyper-masculinity and far-right populism in Europe, this album has received excellent reviews. A live album, Shrimp Sessions, and a new EP, Common Sense, follow in 2019 and 2020 respectively, before the release of a second opus, Welfare Jazz, in 2021. After the replacement of Martin Ehrenchona aka Konie by Elias Junqvist, it's guitarist Benjamin Vallé's turn to give way to Linus Hillborg for the recording of Cave World (2022). The dance-punk band, with its satirical lyrics mixed with black humor, continues with Viagr Aboys (2025), featuring the singles "Man Made of Meat", "Uno II" and "The Bog Body".
