Biography

The Bug Club are a dynamic, quirky Welsh indie-rock band known for their catchy melodies and distinctive blend of retro and modern influences. Formed in 2016 on the Cardiff college scene, the group—originally from Caldicot in Monmouthshire—consists of two core members: Tilly Harris (bass, vocals) and Sam Willmett (guitar, vocals), although initially contained additional members Ross Willmett, Ed Hayes, and Dan Matthew. Their music is characterised by its infectious hooks, playful lyrics, and a sound that melds elements of garage rock, power pop, and lo-fi indie. The Bug Club released their debut single "We Don't Need Room For Loving", in April 2021, followed by the EP Launching Moondream One later that month. Their debut album, Green Dream In F#, arrived in 2022 with Rare Birds: Hour Of Song following in 2023. They signed to iconic US indie label Sub Pop in 2024 and released third album On the Intricate Inner Workings of the System. The band's fourth album, Very Human Features, appeared in 2025.
