Biography

Steered by Oakland producer and rapper Ant Banks, US hip-hop supergroup T.W.D.Y. (The Whole Damn Yay) made a splash with their dynamic debut album Derty Werk in 1999, which debuted at Number 135 on the Billboard 200 and at Number 41 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. The album contained the dynamic lead single "Players Holiday," which peaked at Number 90 on the Billboard Hot 100 and became the group's signature hit. Derty Werk featured a variety of respected collaborators, including Spice 1, Dolla Will and Pooh-Man, with George Clinton and William Earl "Bootsy" Collins both listed as writers. Among the album's highlights were "Pervin", which enlisted Too Short and E-40, and "Gotta Have Heart", which featured Metro. T.W.D.Y. would remain dormant for the next decade until making their return in 2000 with the guest-studded album, Ant Banks Presents T.W.D.Y - Lead The Way.
