Biography

Turma do Pagode, a Brazilian pagode group formed in 1994 in São Paulo's Parada Inglesa neighborhood, has become a cornerstone of modern samba and pagode music. The group initially gained recognition with their debut live album, Turma do Pagode - Ao Vivo (2001), produced with the support of Netinho de Paula, who also named the band. Over the years, they released a series of albums, including Festa no Quintal (2003) and Pagode do Bom (2005), showcasing a mix of original hits and reimagined classics. Their breakthrough came with the 2009 album Dom de Sambar, featuring collaborations with Leci Brandão on "Vai Com Deus" and Péricles on "Esse Adeus." Subsequent highlights include the 2010 CD/DVD Esse É o Clima, with hits like "O Céu Tava Lá" and "Camisa 10," and the 2015 release XV – Ao Vivo, celebrating 15 years of success with guest performances by Thiaguinho and Arlindo Cruz. Known for their electrifying live shows, Turma do Pagode has also earned accolades like the 2015 Multishow Award for Best Group. Their digital album Misturadin (2017) and its sequel Misturadin 2 (2019) brought fresh collaborations, solidifying their place in the genre. In 2021, Turma do Pagode released the live album Turma no Quintal, which included the Grupo Menos É Mais collaboration "Bebe e Vem Me Procurar / Quem Ama Sente Saudade." A third volume of the Misturadin series arrived in 2024, featuring contributions from Ferrugem, Mumuzinho, and Xande de Pilares.
