Totally Insane was an American hip hop group from East Palo Alto, California that was formed in 1991. The group's core lineup consisted of Mac-10 (Phillip Allen), Ad Kapone (Adam Hicks), and later Scoot Dogg. Signed to In-a-Minute Records from 1991 to 1995, they gained early recognition with the single "No More Mr. Nice Guy" and their debut album, Direct from the Backstreet (1991), which reached the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. They followed with Goin' Insane (1993) and Backstreet Life (1995), both of which also charted, before releasing Totally Insane (1998) and Da Game of Life (2001).
